After completion of each unit, you need to revise. You may deal with different terms which you may find too difficult to remember.
For instance, in Diversity in the living world, you have the classification of plants and animals. So you need to remember the classified names of species at different levels (genus, species, phylum) to do so, you can use a mnemonic to remember.
You might get confused between different terminologies in phyllotaxy. So look at the pictures and try to identify the key features in them and learn
Biology is incomplete without diagrams. If you look at the previous year question papers you will encounter few diagrammatic questions.
In Cell structure and function, you will encounter different types of organelles in different cells. There will be certain organelles which are common to both cells. So learn the function of each organelle and know its structure.
Time preparation for each chapter varies based on the complexity involved.
Especially, in plant physiology, you will deal with concepts like diffusion and facilitated diffusion and active transport. All these terms are related to one concept known as transport in plants. But, these terms have keywords which will help you to differentiate its phenomena. To get a clear-cut picture for these concepts you can use online videos to learn.
In Plant physiology, you will have different metabolic pathways. These pathways will involve different enzymes in each step and different products.
To make this interesting, you can learn when and where these pathways take place in our body and as well as in plants.
In an exam point of view, you need to remember the cycle instantly. So try to practice daily. Place a chart in your table and learn.
After learning each cycle, write them in paper and re-check.
Human physiology and Plant physiology chapters have the highest weight-age
If your aim is for medicine then you should possess’ strong basic knowledge in Human Physiology.
Human Physiology deals with various pathways and parts. In this case, you can use flash cards to remember them.
There are a lot of terms which you may misspell and deceive by their pronunciation like estrogen and oestrogen.
When you are confused between two terms, try to find the unique context and make a note in paper and paste it in your book or in the place where you use to see it frequently.
In reproduction, you will have many diagram labelling questions like male and female reproductive parts. Try to draw those parts and label them.
You will be familiar with two to three times of practice.
Revise those diagram memory questions daily even though you are familiar.
Trust me, compare to theoretical questions diagram labelling questions are easy to score.
In plants, double fertilization is an important concept which you may encounter and there is a tricky part where you may get confused between antipodal cells and synergies.
So, familiarize the terms and get to know the parts which are developed after fertilization
You are good analyzer and willing to accept challenge then there is a chapter for you called genetics and evolution.
In this chapter, there is a portion called pedigree analysis, you may get one or two problems related to this. The possible types of problems that you will encounter are only of 4 types: autosomal dominant, autosomal recessive, sex-linked dominant and recessive.
There are a lot of pedigree charts available on the internet get them and practice.
Apart from this, there are certain experiments in Molecular Biology which are also a part of your portion. For instance, try to understand why lac operon is called as inducer instead of memorizing the steps.
Since you will be encountering a lot of diseases, the tricky part is to remember the symptoms of the diseases.
Try to pull the possible diseases from your portions and make a relationship and learn the unique terms/genes/symptoms related to the diseases.
When you find certain symptoms common between two diseases, write down two diseases and the symptom associated with it.
Even though Biotechnology and its applications is small chapter there are many important concepts related to it. Especially techniques like gel electrophoresis, western blot and ELISA.
These techniques will have different applications and principle. So while learning does not just learn the principle, get to know the minute details for each technique. For instance, in gel electrophoresis, get to know the migration path for DNA.
In NEET, you don’t have any essay questions or 2 mark question. So, during your initial stage of preparation learn the contents related to each topic and look for the possible MCQ’s in each and every line.
The last chapter may seem to be easy, but they are important cycles like phosphorus and carbon cycle.
Since you don’t have sufficient time to read newspapers and to know the success stories of environmental issues, they are many e-books and materials related to NEET exam which will address the portion.
After completing each chapter take N number of mock test. While taking those tests allot 3 hours and practice as much as you can.
A mock test has to be taken seriously and has a good mentor like your teacher or a friend who can motivate you and as well as help you out in correcting the mistakes.
Ask yourself many number questions as much as you can. If you don’t have much time to take a mock test, make a person who can ask questions and try to answer.
